PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Mr. Lila Dhar Bhandari –President of DOCS Foundation Nepal It is my great pleasure to express my experiences and opinions about our organization – Destitute and Orphan Children Safeguarding Foundation Nepal. Nepal is one of the most beautiful countries in Asia. The dignity and pride of our people are as inherent as the natural splendor of the Himalayan landscape. Yet, a large portion of our children are poverty-stricken, orphaned and homeless, which has made them easy targets for human trafficking, prostitution, rape, and torture. Unfortunately our government has been slow to implement and enforce laws and other measures to address these very serious issues. So, save for the efforts of organizations such as ours, the needless suffering of our nation’s children continues to be a widespread and commonplace occurrence. Our name, itself, explains our aim and the mission of our work. We believe that every child deserves to live in a safe, clean environment, be well nourished, and receive a quality education and medical care. We are committed in the issues on Child Right Protection and we care for children from the neediest sectors of our society the most marginalized minorities, Orphans, as well as those who have been abandoned with physical or mental handicaps. Our children are facilitated with nutritious and hygienic foods, modern academic educations, computer educations and many more extra curriculums such as outdoor and indoor sports, camping, hiking, scouts, and hand-work arts etc. If get sufficient grants from government of Nepal and international donors, I would like give assurance that we are able to expand our work across Nepal and ensure their futures. Just like the children we care for, we cannot do this alone. Your contribution or sponsorship of a child or program today truly makes a world of difference to us and especially to our children. Together we can provide a safe haven for Nepal’s most precious resource – its children. Our next step will be how to address the contemporary issues on Child protection in Nepal such as child integration and family preservation.
