Biographies of Foundation Founder and President :

Lila Dhar Bhandari - Founder and President

Lila Dhar Bhandari was born in the remote province of Shindhupalchok District, Nepal. Having lost his father at the young age of 18 months, Lila was beset by financial problems throughout his early years of schooling, where tuition, books, and school supplies were extremely costly.

Lila was fortunate to apply for and receive a scholarship for Save the Children Fund UK,which enabled him to complete his education

through the intermediate level, when the demands of earning a living to support his mother became the primary need. For the past 8 years, Lila has worked in the tourism industry, meeting many international visitors to Nepal and traveling himself to Europe.

In 2002, he began the formation of the Destitute & Orphan Children Safeguarding Foundation, Nepal. (DOCSF-Nepal) in order to address the growing problem of poverty, illiteracy and child abandonment and abuse he witnessed throughout his travels and from which his own personal experience was drawn. Much of the resources used to shelter and feed children sponsored through this organization come from his own personal contributions.

Lila is committed to the betterment of his country and community and is proud to serve as founder and president of the Destitute & Orphan Children Safeguarding Foundation, Nepal. (DOCSF-Nepal). He is eternally grateful for the generosity and support he has received from his international friends and clients.
